Can I iron my Tibetan prayer flags?
I recently bought a set of Tibetan prayer flags, but they were packaged folded and now there are creases in them. Is it okay to iron the creases out or would that be disrespectful?
It's not necessary at all to iron the prayer flags. Prayer flags, once they are hung, are meant to slowly deteriorate as they send blessings on the winds. Once hung they are not taken down anyway (some say they should be replaced on the Buddha's birthday others say they are meant to remain until they disintegrate naturally). More importantly is the day on which you hang the prayer flags based upon the prayers printed on the flags.
