how does it take for a Betta to heal?
i recently discovered that my Betta had fin rot, i have two, a male and a female that lived together , but i separated them for now so that they can heal, i bought this medicine that you put in the water to help, and im cleaning the bowls more often, once every two or three days, so how long would it take for them to heal and grow their fins back?
First off, the two shouldn't have been together to start with. unless you were breeding them, that is. Fin rot can take anywhere from days to weeks to heal completely. They are likely to get this in small bowls as the water quality goes off rather quickly. I had a rescue come in with a bad case. It wasn't responding to tradintionaly treatment so I did something else. I took all the gravel and srones out, cleaned the tank, replaced the water with aged and treated water and then only put back in some weighted silk plants for him to hide in. it took afew days, but soon he was looking much better. he also had a touch of SWD. i fasted him also. But I use 2.5 gallon heated tanks and outside of those that come to me with it, I never have fin rot.
So just be paitent and keep his water as clean as you can without stressing him out. Have the water sitting to replace it before doing so. (do'nt just draw it, treat it and use it)
His fins will grow back, but probably not as nice or even the same color.
And do not put he pair back together!
